Super Metroid - ROM / Torrent

Samus has successfully destroyed all known Metroids in the universe, except for one, which she brings to the Ceres Space Colony as a research specimen. Shortly after her departure from Ceres, Samus receives a distress signal from the colony. She returns to find that it being attacked by her old enemy Ridley. Samus attempts to stop him, but she fails, and Ridley escapes with the Metroid specimen and activates the colony’s self-destruct sequence. Samus makes it out just in time, and she tracks Ridley back to Zebes, the old space pirate base where she fought him, Kraid, and Mother Brain in the original Metroid game. She finds that the pirates have completely rebuilt their base. Knowing what will happen if the pirates begin replicating the Metroids again, Samus sets out to destroy their base a second time.

Both this game and Final Fantasy III were insanely close to taking the #1 slot, and both would have been exceedingly worthy candidates for that honor. Super Metroid in particular has often been called the greatest Super Nintendo game ever. Certainly, the gaming experience it provides is nothing short of orgasmic. With its open-ended gameplay, phemonenal graphics, amazing music, and jaw-dropping boss battles, this game is nothing short of perfect. When people accuse Nintendo of making nothing but kiddie games, kindly point them to Super Metroid. It’s as intense and adult as any game needs to be.

Ohhhhhh yes. One of my all-time favorite games. It’s a truly great sequel: everything you loved about the original, but all exponentially better than before. It’s gorgeous, spooky, and the sound is fantastic. The weapons rock (there’s not just bombs, there’s POWER bombs!), as do all the new gizmos. The monsters and bosses are all wonderfully creepy, and the entire world draws you into it. I remember being filled with despair as I found myself lost in the watery labyrinths of Maridia, unable to find an exit as the stage’s slow, eerie music seeped into my brain. And I loved all the game’s surprise twists at the end.

Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past ROM

Download the Legend of Zelda - A LInk to the Past SNES ROM.  The evil wizard Agahnim has taken over Hyrule Castle and imprisoned Princess Zelda in its basement. After the young hero Link rescues her, he learns of the full extent of Agahnim’s evil intentions. Agahnim plans to use Zelda’s body in a dark ritual that will break an ancient seal and release the powerful wizard Ganon from imprisonment in the Dark World. Link eventually obtains the Master Sword and defeats Agahnim in Hyrule, but he is unable to stop him from breaking the seal. Now Link must travel to the Dark World and defeat Ganon before he breaks free and conquers Hyrule…

Alot of people will tell you that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the greatest video game (and, by proxy, the greatest Zelda game) ever made. They’d be wrong. While the title of overall best video game ever is highly debatable, the pinnacle of this particular franchise is the Super Nintendo incarnation. And, while Super Metroid is almost indistinguishable from A Link To The Past quality-wise, Zelda deservedly edges it out to be the greatest game on the system.

Civilization Revolution - ROM

Download the free version of the Civilization Revolution ROM / Torrent. Civilization Revolution is a turn based strategy game in which the player can take one of 16 different civilizations, each with special abilities, from prehistory to modern times and the near future. In past installments the player had more control over the rules of the game and often the game could last for more than ten hours. In Civilization Revolution the games for the most part can be finished within three hours. For the console version, the gameplay has been streamlined and simplified to make the game easier to play for newcomers to the series.

In addition to naming cities, players are randomly allowed to name a geographical feature such as a mountain range, plains, or river.

MAME - Arcade Emulator - Version .128

MAME is an emulator application designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software, with the intent of preserving gaming history and preventing vintage games from being lost or forgotten. The aim of MAME is to be a reference to the inner workings of the emulated arcade machines; the ability to actually play the games is considered as “a nice side effect” . The name is an acronym for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.

The first public MAME release (0.1) was on February 5, 1997, by Nicola Salmoria. As of version 0.128, released October 16, 2008, the emulator now supports 3870 unique games and 7304 actual ROM image sets and is growing all the time. However, not all of the games in MAME are currently playable; 942 ROM sets are marked as not working in the current version, and 40 are not actual games but BIOS ROM sets. The project is currently coordinated by Aaron Giles.

NintendoWii - Wii Emulator

Nintendo Wii Emulation. The Wii is really just an improved version of the GameCube that consists of an IBM 729MHz CPU, an ATI graphics card clocked at 243 MHz, 88 MB of RAM in total, a DVD drive, wireless 802.11b/g, and 512 MB of flash based memory. Since it is so heavily based on the GameCube it wont be too long until the hardware is emulated. Even now as we speak you can run GameCube Homebrew on the Wii such as SNES or NES Emulators and with modchips already on the market you no longer need an Action replay to run GameCube homebrew. Currently, several are under development.

NeutrinoSX2 - PS2 Emulator

Download the free NeutrinoSX2 PS2 Emulator. NeutrinoSX2 (nSX2) is an open source emulator for the Play Station 2 platform. Just as the other emulators of its kind, its still under construction, so yeah it means that you can’t run any commercial game with it, but it’s always worth waiting in the future to see if they work.

PCSX2 - PS2 Emulator

Download the free PCSX2 PS2 Emulator - PCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality. The main bottleneck in PS2 emulation is emulating the multi-core PS2 on PC architecture. Although each CPU can be emulated perfectly, getting the synchronization and timing between them to be accurate is very difficult. (Sony themselves have found it difficult in perfecting a software emulator of the PS2 on the PlayStation 3.) PCSX2, like its predecessor project PCSX, is based on a plugin architecture, separating several functions from the core emulator. These are the graphics, controls, CD/DVD drive, USB, sound and FireWire (i. Link) ports. Different plugins may produce different results in both compatibility and performance. Additionally, PCSX2 requires a copy of the PS2 BIOS to operate, which is not offered for download by the developer, due to the copyright concerns and legal issues associated with it.

PSPE - PSP Emulator

Emulation is growing every day, and PSPE is a perfect prove of that, even though this emulator still can’t run any commercial PSP game, you can try it by playing some demos and homebrew games. It is important to remember that this emulator is the first of its kind, but after all we are expecting more updates for this project and why not more PSP emulators.  An important thing is that you need to get SDL.dll in order to run the emulator. Just scroll down to get that file and remember to place all files into the same root folder.
